UKBA Introduces English Language Requirement for Partners Applying in CambodiaThursday, 13 September 2012
From October 1st, 2012 the UK Border Agency(UKBA) will remove the English Language requirement exemption which has been in place for partners applying to settle in the UK from Cambodia. Accordingly, any non - European migrant applying in Cambodia to enter or remain in the UK as the partner of a British citizen or a person settled in the UK will need to demonstrate speaking and understanding English from October 1st, 2012. Partners applying for Visas to the UK as the husband, wife, civil partner, unmarried partner, same-sex partner, fiance(e) or prospective civil partner of a UK citizen or a person settled in the UK must show one of the following:
An acceptable English test with one of the UKBA's approved test providers can be used as evidence to meet the requirement of the applicants.
