UK Border Agency Reminds Visa Applicants of the Tier 1 ClosureWednesday, 4 April 2012
The UK Border Agency (UKBA) reminds visa applicants of Tier 1 (Post-study work) closure starting from April 6, 2012. According to the UKBA latest news, applicants wishing to apply for permission to stay in the UK under the Tier 1 post-study work visa must submit their applications by April 5, 2012 by standard post, or by courier. If submitted by post the post mark must clearly show the date of submission (on or before April 5, 2012). If the application is sent by courier, it must be received at the address shown on the application form by 17:00 on 5 April 2012. The UKBA also notes that any application submitted on or before April 5, 2012 will be evaluated under the rules and guidance of April 5, 2012. The UKBA advises applicants to fully understand the criteria advised in the Tier 1 policy guidance before applying. Applicants who do not finish their studies or do not receive confirmation of qualification will be refused. Following the closure of Tier 1 (Post-study work) on April 6, 2012, graduates wishing to stay in the UK must apply for another UK visa if they meet the criteria.
